Environment » Industrial Effluents Treatment

Treatment of industrial effluents of the companies of the group is carried out by means of activated iodine, which comprises the microbial activity that uses the organic matter present in the effluent as a carbon source and turns it into simple chemical substances such as: mineral salts, carbon dioxide, water, and so on. The biomass consists of several microbial species which include mainly bacteria, fungi, and protozoa. The term “activated iodine” designates the flocculent microbial mass that is formed when biodegradable effluents are subjected to aeration.

The group also relies on a sewage treatment plant whose system by rotary biological disks is the state-of-the-art technology for this type of effluent, in addition to the activated iodine technique.

Furthermore, there is a physical-chemical lab in Águia Participações group facilities dedicated to water, effluent, iodine, soil, and atmospheric pollutant analysis for the control of its treatment plants and proper monitoring of their emissions. Thus, our objective is to assure that water of the production process returns to environment with a higher quality than that required by law.
